With all the rhetoric online about Uptown Funk and Blurred Lines being “rip offs” of other songs, let me just say, as a DJ with an extensive collection, I can play you 100 other songs that borrowed a feeling or elements from songs that came before them. Such is life. Maybe in a future blog post, I’ll provide some examples but I don’t want to end up doing more harm to these artists than good. What I’d rather spend my time talking about is about folks like Mark Ronson are continuously making music that feels right. And with that, peep his new video below featuring the legend, Mystical.
